VPK - Ms. Dana
Ms. Dana is our VPK Teacher. She previously taught elementary school in Nova Scotia, Canada as well as in Maine before relocating to Key West and joining the Co-op family. She has two children; Finley is 5 and just started Kindergarten and Molly is 3 and is in Ms. Sharon's class. She has a Bachelor of Recreation degree, a BA in Education, a Master of Education in Literacy and a post graduate certificate in school administration. Her family also owns The Conch Shack, a small food service business on Duval Street.
VPK - Ms. Jennifer
Ms. Jennifer came to the Co-op shortly after moving to Key West in 2010 as her youngest daughter attended the VPK program. She is originally from the Seattle area and attended college there. From 2001-2005, she worked in Alaska on a grant for the Department of Education, creating educational programs for students with FASD. Additionally, she has written educational courses and curriculum for the University of Alaska. She's delighted to be part of this special time in your child's development and to help them explore the world around them. She's looking forward to meeting each of you and working with you throughout the school year.
Three's - Ms. Sharon
Ms. Sharon is our new 3's teacher. She moved to Key West in May 2011 and is excited to be in such a great community. She is a Coast Guard spouse and along with her husband, Guy, has a sweet 1½-year-old Labrador Retriever named Abby. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Education, and has been working with young children for most of the past 16 years. She has done everything from home visits with children and families to directing a preschool program for children with special needs. Most recently she taught 3-5 year-olds in the state preschool system in California.
Two's - Ms. Alison
Ms. Alison has been the 2's teacher and School Director since 2008. Prior to being the 2's teacher, she was a substitute and co-teacher for the three's class for 5 years. She has a daughter Danielle, who attended the preschool from 2000-2003 and graduated. Ms. Alison hails from the Chicagoland area in Northern Illinois. She graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin, with two degrees in education. Ms. Alison is very active in the community and has served on the FKCC Chorale Board, the Island Opera Board, and is on her third year serving on the Anne McKee Artists Fund Board. Her other interests include singing in and around the community in church settings and with the Keys Chorale and the Pops as both a soloist and back up chorus member. Ms. Alison loves art and music and thinks they both are a vital educational and fun necessity in our lives.
Parent & Me - Ms. Tina
Ms. Tina is the Parent & Me teacher, and is very excited to welcome you to the KWPC parent and me class! She recently moved to Key West from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Ms. Tina has a three-year-old son and is currently pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has spent the last six months working as an assistant in one of the local schools in Key West, and can't wait to incorporate all of her creativity into working with you and your precious child!
